My name is Pamela Maldonado Vallejos.
I started my architecture studies in Asunción, Paraguay and got my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Vienna, Austria.
I am interested in architecture that is sensible towards the environment, empathic towards the people, and serves as a tool for radical transformation. Some thematic points of interest are dwelling, accessibility, working with existing buildings and reused materials, as well as visual representation.
My diploma project “The Existing as a Resource: Adapting the Europa-Pavillon in Vienna for Living” proposed an alternative to total demolition of the 23 year old building. The reusability potential of the materials guided the design decisions and the building was transformed for living while keeping demolition to a minimum.
Parallel to architecture, I enjoy drawing and experimenting with different techniques and media.
